The school is having a lot of student discipline issues; teacher student ratio is higher comparing to the other HISD good schools. Principal refused to hire a music teacher for already over two years. As a language magnet school, there is only one Spanish teacher to teach the entire school (800+) students who picked Spanish as their magnet course.

"We don't have any events. We have a co. Munich Center but it's not really acceptable for large gatherings. The new library may change the neighborhood for the better. "

"This aging neighborhood has its excellent places and not so excellent. Part of the neighborhood is safe and well kept and part not. The further south you get on Chimney Rock the worse the neighborhood gets."

"We’ve been in Westbury almost one year. My neighbor is an original owner of a 1958 home. There are some very nice, well-kept homes in the neighborhood. Close to Meyerland/Bellaire area which is more upscale area with good retail options. "
