I believe that a childs success in school depends more on the parental involvement than any other factor. This school may not have as much money as the next elementary school but there is a lot of love and determination here shared by the teachers and staff. My kids look forward to going to school, they adore their teachers and have received excellent instruction.

Unfortunately, this school has serious issues that need urgent attention. Many students are struggling to learn effectively, as there seems to be a lack of engagement and support from the teaching staff. Additionally, there are concerning problems related to drug use that don’t appear to be adequately addressed. For the sake of the students, I hope the administration takes these concerns seriously and works toward meaningful improvements, though they probably never will. If you graduate from Florence, good luck making it anywhere in life because it’ll be hard with a Florence education.

FMS is an all around great school. Caring, smart, interested teachers who take initiative and welcome parent suggestions and involvement. Principal is engaged and active with students, teachers, and parents. FMS uses online site TxConnect to post data for parents on student attendance, behavior, and grades. Class size allows students and teachers to interact effectively on a daily basis. Ample opportunities for student extra-cir. activities, including multiple award winning FFA/Ag program. Very glad our son has been able to attend this middle school (beginning 8th grade this year). We highly recommend FMS!
