8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI strongly disagree with these post, or maybe because they were written so long ago. we feel they have not been prominent on their academics, I've reached out several times letting them know my kids beg for more of a challenge everything is to easy . there is no reply to me when I send the teacher questions about what they need to be doing . the ranking says it all 7 they are ranked 7 not 8,9, or 10. if you want your kids to be dumbed down bring them here or around here education is not top shelf or a priority. If you offer politely how things could be better than you are insulting them. bottom line my 3 kids are very smart and they do love the school, friends and teachers, but we have to home school them to keep up to their level. what a shame. this school could easily be a lot Better .Upset parents .go to Owasso or Jenks and other Schools away from here. Verdigris may not be a very big school but it is awesome plenty of teachers to care for you and you will never feel excluded. Our High School coaches are great we have won state 3 peat in baseball, 6th in girls soccer and 1 in girls and boys basketball. This school is small and students have opportunities to do sports and activities that they may not be able to do in larger schools. The teachers are involved and know the names of the students. The students have been warm and welcoming to my student. The principal seems invested in the success of the students. The office staff is friendly and helpful. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMoved from Jenks. I have to say, I love the small town feel. What I do not like.. If it’s a virtual day OR your child has Covid OR even take a sick day they are still required to do their work virtually the day of. If they submit it the next day, they take a zero. Verdigris does not do late assignments. If it’s ONE day late, it’s a zero. My son was sick and didn’t go to school and still managed to have his grade drop two letter grades due to them being so quick to put in a zero. I have told the teachers I feel they’re setting them up for failure. She apologized. Then they sent out an email trying to offer tutoring because so many kids are struggling BUT WAIT, the teacher is pocketing the money!!!!Parent Review4y ago
