Great school. I grew up in Magnolia. Great teachers.

Was in Hofius intermediate school for last 2 years. They have quite a bit higher rating on great schools than Bear Branch. At end of sixth grade my student was on AB Honor roll, in Advanced Math (89 final grade), Advanced Reading, and almost aced Science class. We then moved to bear Branch Junior High. After one year at Bear Branch he has been moved back to regular math, and now only has a C Average. Is failing science. Has come home from school crying several times. My son was bullied in the locker room, by the same kid for several weeks. Not one Teacher Noticed one of the kids was changing into his P. E. Clothes in the Hallway bathroom for a few weeks. (His first ever real bully experience). Im not accusing Bear Branch of any wrong doing. I am simply sharing our experience. We absolutely regret moving here. It may have been the worst thing we could do for our child.

We’ve been here since pre-k. My kids are learning more this year than in the past, probably due to new principal this year, Mrs. Fields. The teachers are great, my son has always had a little more trouble than my daughter with academics. His teachers have brought him to ‘at benchmark’ in ELA and ‘Above benchmark’ for math, whereas he had been below benchmark in all previous years. The school has been a great job at addressing any concerns we may have. The culture is good and students are held accountable behaviorally. Before attending Ellisor, we had placed my son in a charter school. After a week into Kinder, the charter school’s inconsistencies and disorganization led us to enroll him in public school and have had a lot better experience here.
