PHS has excellent academics, with the teachers always making sure there's something new to learn each day. The building conditions are superb, and there's plenty of great activities for students to partake in. Despite all that, PHS isn't all that great. There is a high immaturity level in even the Seniors, and the leadership could be better. The administration is laid-back and doesn't get things done well or on time. The rule enforcement is also horrible. Thankfully, everyone can always find a friend, and most of the teachers are great. If you're going for the academics and the activities, make this one of your options. For anything else, however, please skip PHS

As a student, I never expected the place I came to learn would be the same place where I felt targeted, unsupported, and unsafe due to my race. Sadly, that’s exactly what happened at this school.Throughout my time here, I witnessed and experienced countless instances of racism—from students making racist remarks and jokes to teachers showing clear favoritism and bias. What made it worse was that when these incidents were reported, the principal either ignored them, brushed them off as “misunderstandings,” or even defended the behavior of those responsible.It became clear that there was a culture of silence and protection—especially for staff and students who were part of the problem. Rather than addressing complaints with fairness and urgency, the administration often gaslit students of color or penalized them for speaking up. Watching classmates get punished more harshly or treated differently just because of their race made me feel powerless and disheartened.This school had the opportunity to educate and create a safe, inclusive environment. Instead, the principal’s failure to act—or worse, their willingness to enable this toxic environment—showed me exactly how deep systemic racism can run, even in our schools.I’m sharing this not out of spite, but out of hope that future students won’t have to go through what many of us did. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality—regardless of their race. This school failed us in that regard.
