6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe used to love Highlands, but no longer. They are not co-parent friendly, they make you feel like an outsider when it comes to your own child. This year we have caught our second oldest child’s teacher in two separate lies, and the principal basically calling our child a liar to our face. There is no communication anymore, you message over and over with no answer. When you try to address the principal, all she does is talk over you and that’s unacceptable. I feel the IEP’s are just baby sitters there. Our child comes home with unfinished work and work that is incorrect and hasn’t been explained to her at all. We work with her a lot at home and I feel that’s the only reason she is succeeding. The school is failing her. Feedback is not taken seriously by the staff. I could go on and on. It seems a lot of these teachers are uncomfortable with speaking to parents about their children and that’s confusing to me considering that is a large part of their profession. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone. They do not follow your wishes when it comes to be notified about specific incidents. I’ve asked for a call back from the principal and still haven’t received it. They act as if it’s a burden to have children at their school being co-parented. Again I would NOT recommend this school to anyone. Most importantly, my children are not learning there.Parent Review6mo ago10 Reviews - Dothan High School

"Not sure about this one. Some may get together but we venture out to nearby parks instead of meeting with neighbors. We work full time so we have less hang out time than some of our neighbors. "

"Unsafe. None the women feel safe to walk their dogs here. I don’t know the community guidelines it would be whatever the city is, but that doesn’t matter. You should be asking what the yards look like and the neighbors stop and glare at you as a women. I have my HS daughter jump in the car before anyone can see her due to unsafe feeling we have had to call the police twice one was just the other day a guy trying to break in. I am a single mother with 2 children. I would rather dogs be running around"
