We love Vail Academy and High School! We have had both our children here since kindergarten and they are now in 7th and 5th grades. It is very easy to communicate with teachers, staff, and administration. Having currently around 450 students total for grades k-12, it is easy to get to know each other, spend one on one time with teachers, and enjoy smaller class sizes. Vail Academy has a strong community feel with teachers that continually go above and beyond to ensure their student’s success in and out of the classroom.

Our third-grader has been at Cottonwood for her whole school experience and we could not be happier. The teachers are wonderful and really connect with the kids one-on-one and her education there has been stellar. There are classes available for more advanced kids, and also programs to assist other kids that may need extra help. I appreciate the atmosphere of kindness and acceptance on the campus, and the emphasis on creating a caring school community. The staff and principal are responsive and wonderful, we are so happy to have our child at this school and in this district. I highly recommend Cottonwood Elementary in VUSD!

Not the current students in the reviews lmao. Anyways most middle school kids nowadays do not have a general respect for faculty on campus thus the teachers and monitors needing to raise their voices more in order for the students to somewhat listen. Students now go into situations immediately expecting disrespect and having a horrible attitude so it reflects in how the teachers have to address them. That's why they're all in the reviews complaining but I guarantee y'all if you just had some neutral disposition towards the staff and followed the rules they wouldn't come off as rude or targeting because then they wouldn't even need to speak to you. Also the downgrade in teachers isn't really the school's fault since there is a teacher shortage, the kids are making the teachers not want to teach/exist, and the kids probably don't even pay attention in class so how do they know if the teachers are good or not. I went to this school around 2015 and almost all of the teachers I had have left but that's probably a mix of lack of support from admin and how bad the post-covid kids are. Don't listen to the poorly written reviews from middle schoolers with the grammar level of a 2nd grader. The school isn't that bad and out of all the Vail middle schools I would say this one is your best option.

It is perfect for my kids who go there

My daughter had a great freshman year. She is in all AP or honors classes. They also have Engineering and Drama as electives, and she is interested in both. Her math skills really took off last year under her Algebra teacher. She is interested in her electives, or she'd have joined the Corvis Academy, which is a serious college prep cohort. It's great for her to be at a school where the focus is not on mindless athletics!

VDLP is a high rigor online program for students wanting an alternative option for school. It is ideal for students wanting academic challenges and the opportunity to accelerate through classes. VDLP offers full-time options along with students who want to take additional classes to their normal schedule. It is challenging and rigorous yet web based to afford families freedom to travel or have alternative class schedules.

My daughter is currently a sophomore at Andrada and we have loved the last two years! All of the teachers my daughter has had are great and very supportive especially in the honors and AP classes. The pathways give students the opportunity to learn to think for themselves and give real life experience. I love that they are bringing opportunities for sports back to the students. This school gives students a great education, skills, and a high school experience without the pressure students face at large high schools.
