North Polk is a fantastic school district. We have had our kids at West Elementary, Big Creek Elementary, the middle school, and the high school. We have had nothing but positive experiences. One of our kids is on the spectrum and has social emotional issues. The school administration, counselors, and teachers have always gone above and beyond for him. The music program is top rate. The sports programs are fantastic with amazing, supportive coaches. The special ed. department worked so hard to support our son and set him up for a positive future! We also have a child who got into a lot of trouble in high school. The school was more than fair and worked with us (and him) to enable him to graduate on time. North Polk offers a supportive environment with excellent academics and extra curriculars. And to be clear, I have taught in several school districts (have never taught at NP, though) and have had my older children in other districts. North Polk is far and away the best we have worked with.

My experience of North Polk staff and students was largely positive...I should have been more considerate of others while attending back in the 1980s.
