The assigned public school isn’t what I might like it to be but there are two magnets in the area and a GREAT and affordable Catholic school where we send our kids. Great restaurants nearby, quick public transport to the loop, right by the medical district and safe. We’re happy here. "

    "We work in the downtown loop. We walk to one of two bus options, either 2 blocks or a 1/4 mile walk when we’re dropping our child at a nearby Montessori. Bus is just over 20 min on average. Sometimes we drive in. SUV (or taxi/Uber) takes about 20 min and motorcycle about 17 during typical morning commute times. Take 3-5 min off during non-commute hours. We avoid the highway most times commuting though that is easy to access when desired. "
