"It's a small town atmosphere and pretty quiet. its nice. The community center and VFW always have Bingo or something going on. But people dont do a whole lot of partying here in plain site."
  • Matt R.
"Lots of hydrants. Most animals are leased or in fenced yards. We also have two really good vet offices. We also have a privately owned pet supply store. "
  • Matt R.
"We have a great youth sports program in soccer baseball softball karate youth football and basketball. Great school system a little different but great programs. "
  • Oregontrailss
"Absolutely. If anyone sees a stray dog, they do everything in their power to find the owner and get the dog back home. If it’s injured, we have a compassionate veterinarian who does all he can to help. I think everyone has at least one dog, I have 3, and we all look out for each other. "
  • carol chamra
"It's a small town with nice, friendly people. The neighborhood is rather crowded with houses but all kept up very well"
  • oregontrailss@charter.net
"Dog friendly, small community where people watch out for and help each other. Warm and comforting. People watch each other’s pets, children and if a person needs help they don’t even need to ask someone will find out and organize whatever is necessary."
  • 9840kinder
"You can walk to town in just minutes. River is not far away for fishing, walking trails, park...etc."
  • Oregontrailss
"I have a home business so I don’t commute. If I have to go pick up supplies, I do that once or twice a week and that is about 16 miles round trip and is easily completed in an hour"
  • Jeanetteglade
"Charming country town along the Rogue River"
  • ruth
"This is a lovely, protected, often-sunny valley just a couple minutes off I5 at the Rogue River City exit, populated by a few hundred people on lots of 1 or more acres. "
  • Belinda B. a.
"Our family has lived in the area and made the move from the city life of So. Ca. many years ago. We have never regretted being able to raise our children and have the forest as our backyard. Such a friendly place to have either a small or large horse farm with plenty of things to do with the Rogue river or nearest National forest which has camping, rafting, boating, horseback riding, fishing, boating, dirt bike aka off road atv etc. either at rivers or the nearby lakes. This area has it all! The property at 6383 East Evans is prime area to live in existing house while you build your dream home. New Well & Pump for fresh drinking water. Irrigation to grow your own hay or vegetables. Views are amazing with nice mild seasons to enjoy tranquil days of living the good life the way it's meant to be. 'This area has something for everyone & at these prices without having to pay state tax on goods you purchase there isn't a reason not to move here! "
  • KatyBGood
"One has to value fresh air and clean water above shopping, restaurants, and neighborhood schools. It's a heavily wooded region - the closest town, Rogue River (pop. 2000) is 8 miles away. Add 7 miles to Grants Pass, or 8 miles to Medford for most services and shopping. No sidewalks, but low traffic loads, so many do walk, run or bike for exercise. Public schools are in Rogue River."
  • Aaron A. N.
"It is a small community, near a river. Pretty qiet for the most part, it is a little crimey for being such a small community. All general amenities are here, a few extras within a moderate drive. Beautiful sightseeing along the river at the local Valley of The Rogue State Park. Some nice nearby scenic drives through forests, mountains, and by streams. It is okay for a person who is settled down. For a person who is very active and looking for a lot of excitement/stimulation it is OKAY. For a person who likes night life and entertainment and has more specific interests it's really not such a great place. THat is my opinion."
  • Kimmy p.
"My husband and I have lived in Rogue River for 12 years and have found the perfect combination of privacy, amenities and a wide range of healthy, fun activities. This is a gorgeous area surrounded by untouched nature with hiking trail galore! A short drive takes us to great restaurants and entertainment choices. The best of all worlds right here!"
