I am sharing this as a former teacher at Sixth Ward Middle School. This is not written as retaliation, but as a professional courtesy so families can make informed decisions and ask the right questions.During my time there, I observed repeated inconsistencies between established academic policies and how they were ultimately applied. In particular, there were situations where grading outcomes did not consistently reflect the work students submitted in my class. As the teacher of record, I maintained my gradebook in alignment with the school’s stated expectations and communicated those expectations clearly to students and families.However, there were instances where grading decisions were changed or overridden after submission. In some cases, final outcomes appeared to include adjustments or combinations with work outside the scope of the original course. This created a disconnect between documented classroom performance and reported grades.I also experienced limitations in enforcing classroom and program standards that had been clearly outlined in advance. When expectations are applied inconsistently, it can affect both student accountability and the overall learning environment.Additionally, there were challenges related to communication and decision-making processes. At times, concerns raised through appropriate channels were not addressed in a way that aligned with standard educational practices or with the documentation that had been provided.I want to be clear: I am not making claims about intent, and I understand that schools are complex systems with many moving parts. My purpose in sharing this is simply to encourage parents to stay actively involved, ask detailed questions about grading policies and academic expectations, and ensure that what is communicated aligns with what is actually implemented.Students deserve consistency, transparency, and accountability in their education. My hope is that sharing this experience helps families advocate effectively for their children.

I can't wait until I can move his schools.

Children are harshly disciplined for having special needs. Bullying is not addressed. Faculty place emphasis on conformity above safety and learning .

My son and daughter attended this school for the 2013-2014 school year and I was very pleased the staff are very caring and supportive. The use of technology is very impressive. They will return to this school for the upcoming term and I am happy about that.

Bad school , very racial teacher not a good school for African Americans Students . I had 4 daughters graduate from here and 2 left and I refuse to let that happened
