2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent but am in school for Elem Education. I am interested in student teaching here so I have been starting basic research on the school. I was wondering if anyone can shed light on why they have a 51% suspension rate for students with disabilities.... I find that concerning.Parent Review2mo ago - Orchard Knob Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBy far, this school is the only way to go in Chattanooga. These students are college ready before they complete their 9th grade, and they are living breathing college from day one. Absolutely no other school on this side of the state comes anywhere near the test scores or graduation rates. And a nice plus - the leadership and staff are a pleasure to work with. They know their stuff and treat our children as if they were theirs. I've looked to relocate with my job to other states, and I can tell you that a program this good is very, very rare indeed. This one school is worth staying here until they graduate and in the U of Tn system for another two years at least.Parent Review5y ago - Tommie F. Brown International Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFormer teacher here - one of the worst teaching experiences of my life. Principal singles out teachers who have a back bone and bullies them to the verge of quitting. Absolutely zero encouragement in times of need, claims to be supportive but is very much the opposite. Student safety is also a concern. Contrary to what Baker will say, there are SO many behavior problems to the point it is affecting the other students. Fights almost weekly, bullying, classroom disruptions, etc.. In my time being there we had multiple gun threats from students and they were allowed back to school within a day or two and nothing was done long term. Overall I would NEVER send my own child to this school or ever recommend working there. Considering this past year she had to restaff almost the entire building, it should speak volumes to the administration and how the school is being run. 0/10 do not recommend!!!Other Review9mo ago - Hamilton County Virtual School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagesame as everyone else. There are problems with the high school they don't really teach they just yell at the kids they just have a very boring "do this" and never actually get any learning.Parent Review1y ago - STEM School Chattanooga

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the 2015-2016 school year I have been extremely pleased with STEM school. The principal and staff members actually want their students to succeed. The class sizes are small, students take ownership of their work and other responsibilities, and the environment is exactly what I wanted for my son.Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 100 E 1st St.

What Locals Say about Riverfront

"People are friendly and walking the neighborhood at any time is safe. Also very dog friendly 🐶 with a short walk to area restraints and bars that happily accept your four legged friend...and even give them their own water bowl. "

"With a view of the Aquarium, ball field and a partial view of the river, this is at the center of restaurants, tourist attractions and nightlife. We love living down here so close to the Northshore and Riverwalk.. There are plenty of other friendly dog owners and places to walk and play. The closer to the center, the friendlier the people. As you go south towards EPB & Blue Cross there's less smiles and friendly exchanges. Restaurants are mostly reasonably priced and close."

"Truly great small urban setting. Great outdoors community with access to a long and varied riverwalk, surrounding areas have it all. Progressive downtown with quirkly restaurants and bistros."
