Great school with lots of parent involvement. Moving in the right direction....my first grader has a tablet and knows how to use it! Great things going on at West Platte Elementary

In many way West Platte is truly idyllic. Small class sizes mean teachers know their students well. It also means students have the opportunity to participate in as many different activities as they wish. New technology upgrades have given a large bandwidth, 1:1 personal devices, high-tech classes/activities, and great opportunities to connect with the world via the Internet. School spirit runs throughout the town and both sporting events and artistic performances are well-attended. Both college prep and career training are emphasized. Weston's location is close enough to Kansas City to enjoy all the benefits of urban life, but remains a town where kids ride their bikes around town freely and everyone seems to know everyone else. Faculty and staff recently received a raise that makes the school highly competitive in the KC area and we have been told that the district has an extremely healthy financial outlook. The district has the commitment and the people to grow and improve and has the resources to make it happen. It's a great place to live and learn.
