For a small, rural community like Curwensville, this is a quite a good high school, certainly better than some neighboring schools. Students here do not have the same opportunities for AP courses, electives, and extra-curricular activities that are available in bigger suburban schools, but the core education is sound and the learning environment is as safe and supportive as all but the most elite schools. The middling test scores are more a reflection of the demographic than the school. If you are a parent moving into the area, you need not lose sleep about enrolling your kids at Curwensville.
