6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs far as school districts go, FB goes above and beyond to give kids so many different types of classes that are far more advanced and inclusive of different lifestyles and opportunities. My kids learn about their city, state and surrounding wildlife and environment, special activities and interests that are not at any other school (what other schools teach kayaking and fishing while also offering robotics clubs and highly successful JROTC, sports, and math/science teams that compete at high levels?), advanced academics beyond everyday teachings whether it's science or welding or math, etc and actually prepare them for life after school whether it's college (they offer prep courses) or trade school or straight to work (my daughter has certifications in welding and electrical she earned while attending FB thru a trade school). This school district is amazing if kids take advantage of what is being offered.Other Review1mo ago4 Reviews - Flour Bluff Junior High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageConsidering the diversity of social, economic, and educational levels, I find that Flour Bluff does a wonderful job of reaching every child. The teachers are very kind, reaching out to kids in a way that captivates and interests them in he subject. The school work is relatively challenging in the upper-level classes, but it's nothing a hard-working kid can't handle. Academics is very emphasized and promoted, UIL Math and English challenges never failing to make the morning announcements even if some athletics miss out. Over all, my experience as a student at this school has been wonderful and I think the people, staff, and teachers are great!Other Review15y ago8 Reviews - Flour Bluff Primary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is severely understaffed and the classes are overcrowded. There are not enough certified teachers to teach core subjects. As such, they regularly utilize long-term substitutes for core classes. The students are rude and misbehaved (I have witnessed this in a classroom and being told by my student and even the teachers have agreed). They need to institute a required program that focuses on student behavior that lasts the entire year, not just a few times when the one and only counselor has to visit the class because of poor student behavior. They also need to institute more discipline for the students that continue to be disrespectful and rude in class. It might even help to have teacher's aides in the school for a while at least until they get the behavior back to where it should be. We have not enjoyed this year. Having said all of that, I decided to write this review in hopes that they can turn it around for future years, not just to complain.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Early Childhood Center

"They would like the trail; they would not like that a lot of people have signs in their yard telling people to pick up after their dogs"
