NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJo Ann (the vice principal) is a bully and demonstrates passive aggressiveness towards other adults, which creates a very toxic environment. The principal doesn't even respond to emails or phone calls. The teachers are nice and seem to genuinely care about the kids. If the administration fails, how can the school function? This place is setting itself up for a potential lawsuit in the near future with this "I don't give a care" mentality.Other Review2y ago4 Reviews - Mary D. Mitchell School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school used to be a warm and welcoming place. This year, there is a new principal (who started toward the end of last year) and the shift in culture is more than a little noticeable. My student is afraid of the new principal and talks about how the principal is always yelling and not using manners when talking with students and teachers. Never a please or thank you, lots of commands. The IB curriculum is great and there are many fantastic and caring teachers and staff members. The facility is older but they are slated to get a new building. They technology is one to one. They use chrome books for all grades which is challenging for the K students. They used to have ipads but for some reason the district changed that post the covid shutdown.Parent Review3y ago9 Reviews - Scarlett Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an alumnus of Scarlett Middle I have nothing but good to say about it. They really make it feel like one big family. I always felt like I had someone to talk to whether that be academically or mental health wise. Would recommendOther Review2mo ago13 Reviews - Huron High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur kids never felt like they “had” to go to school @Huron. They understood and felt comfortable with going to school. The school explains very well the personal needs & goals they were trying to accomplish. All my kids were able to explain their goals & options. They teach a “worldly” view instead of only a “book” view which helped them want to learn. The staff is attentive & suppoettive to any changes with grades & never let grades to keep going down without intervention and offering help. As many kids as they have, it shows how good they are knowing many other schools with way less kids dont care if that happens until grades are failing.Parent Review3y ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near Ruby St.

"I have dogs. Folks are always wanting to meet them on walks, pet them, ask their names. It can be difficult walking in grassy public areas as some folks discard their chicken bones on the ground poing potential choking/blockage hazards for dogs. "

"The neighborhood is a decent place if you're smart about how you maneuver around. It can be loud at times if you're near a main road, but otherwise alright. "
