In recent years, the property has experienced a select timber harvest on several portions of the property. This timber management strategy has created an understory that provides adequate cover and forages for various wildlife species including whitetail deer, wild turkey, and even bobwhite quail. It is common to hear quail whistling on this property. In addition to the timber management, a recent fire has increased herbaceous forage throughout much of the property. A centrally located 4-acre field currently is planted in pines but offers early successional habitat in the beginning stage of growth. Brome sedge, blackberry, pokeweed, oak saplings, pine regeneration can be found on the south-facing exposure adjacent to a 1.5-acre food plot that makes for some quality hunting opportunities throughout the season. Additional cover and security can be found in two of the main draws on the property. These secluded terrain features hold deer throughout the season and help pull other bucks in during the rut. This farm is known for hunting very well during the month of November as many new deer transition through the property. A well-defined ridgetop road system takes you through the property connecting you from food plot to food plot. This road system is easily traversed in a pick-up truck and requires minimal maintenance. Currently, there are roughly 2.75 acres of food plots on the property with other locations available.
