6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOVSD has potential but fails students by catering to the opinions of a select few in the rural community. Following Oley's desire to limit diversity and drive away growth and outsiders, the school board holds meetings debating the very federal laws that protect diversity and students who don't quite fit the Oley mold. Many educated families move into the district and out within a few years. Once a desirable district, it no longer carries that reputation.Even prior to COVID, the district failed to reliably secure substitutes Now, as they disregard most covid precautions, the school struggles with teacher absences, student quarantines, & frequent 45 min bus delays.The strengths of the school are the music program, a well-meaning Superintendent, and quality teachers but you could find the same without our devastating weaknesses at neighboring districts. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagewhat a terrible 18 years of my life. no support for students struggling with mental health or neurological disorders (if even acknowledged). usually, you even get punished. it’s bullying is and always has been a huge problem at this school to anyone who doesn’t fit the “norm”.very little CP/AP classes unless you opt to online learning, and those systems are very poorly ran. you will not be a “competitive” student to any high ranking university. same group of <100 students K-12. actual hell on earth, please send your kids elsewhere.Other Review7mo ago
