5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn the one and a half years I went to this school I hated it. My 8th grade year they started using AI to teach everyone their math. I was in Algebra and they taught us slope for half the year so when I moved to a different school I was super behind. They have great extracurricular programs but are not the best in teaching.Other Review4mo ago3 Reviews - Heights Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI used to teach at Heights (2013-2018). Mr. Jackson was a great principal, but things went down hill after he left. Most of the great teachers left and found jobs with better administrative support. I left due to my family relocating, however I would have been very tempted to leave anyway due to the negative changes that were happening. The ESL students get a lot of support at Heights as long as they are in the full-time ESL classes. For the most part, students stay in them until they leave. Mrs. Martin is an excellent Bilingual teacher. Dyslexia services also do a great job. Where they fall flat, is the lack of resources to fully serve the large population of low-level learners and special education students. I don't think this is due to the teachers lack of effort. It's just a lack of the essential personal they need to fully help the students with additional needs. Likewise, the GT program is essentially non-existent. It's so sad for the kids would could really benefit from personalized instruction.Teacher Review5y ago4 Reviews - Texas City High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI find my years at TCHS were pretty good. Never had any problems with the teachers, or students for that matter. There are a plethora of opportunities to get involved. The choir is very successful, as are the other academic UIL teams. The band under the new band director is just amazing, as are the other extra curriculars, including a new video production club/class and architecture classes. The teachers are amazing and are actually interested in their students, if the students give them a chance. At least, the AP teachers. The new administration is cracking down and the school is really shaping up behavior-wise as well as literally as the new school is nearing completion. I look forward to seeing how TCHS will grow and change in the future.Student Review15y ago1 Reviews - Fry Intermediate School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would give a 0 rating if it was an option. The teachers DO NOT know how to treat students or the parents. Most of the staff employed in the front office are rude and disrespectful. The principal also talks down to the children and their parents. You are never allowed to go inside the school so getting ahold of anyone is impossible. My phone calls are never returned including when they faculty put my student on the wrong bus and could not locate them. I was never apologized to or reached out to from anyone at the school. I would never recommend this school to any parent. I am glad that my student only had to go here one year. I will also be filing a formal complaint with the school board.Parent Review4y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near Loop 197.

"Busy streets in some neighborhoods, kids need to stay in the yard for safety. Good place to live otherwise"

"Most people like seeing dogs, but seem to believe all dogs are vicious at the same time. Also a lot of owners I've met are unwilling to pick up after their own dogs, making a majority of people upset to see your dog relieving themselves near their area of residence. "

"Lots of dogs, paths, parks and areas to walk your dog. Folks seem to pick up after their pets too. Traffic isn’t heavy so you don’t have to worry if your dog gets out."
