6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI just graduated from RHS and now at UTPA. As far as the education goes RHS is okay. Many of the teachers are certified and they have become more strict on who they hire. School violence is extremely rare. We would have like one at most (rare) two fights a semester. I thought that was a lot but after talking to other students in mcallen or other schools they would have monthly fights. The sports and music programs are all fun and good but i think what this school is really lacking is money and an open mind. Some of this faculty, (the principal) are dinosaurs. There are way to many restrictions and rules its not a good environment for kids to express their individuality and self confidence. They need to have classes that think outside the box. As far as money goes there's just not enough. More money means more classes, better teachers, more programs, and more spirit. Unfortunately money is one of those things you cant really fix since its based on taxes really.
