157 +/- ac Hunting Tract with Pine & Hardwood Sawtimber in Lincoln Parish, LA This timberland tract southeast of Choudrant, LA has a lot of character with the mixed natural stand of approx. 134 acres of pine and hardwood sawtimber, approx. 23 acres of a cypress slough, and rolling topography...approx. 60' of elevation change from the slough area to the highest ridge on the north end. It will provide a new owner with opportunities for deer and small game hunting, some wood duck shoots, and locations for a secluded home site on one of the ridges overlooking the slough. The January 2026 ice storm broke off pine limbs and some tops in the higher elevation in the center and north end of the tract. A salvage job was performed to remove the downed and damaged pine, but a good stand of pine remains along with hardwood sawtimber. Interior trails allows easy access in and around the tract, but it will need to be "swept out" with some light dozer work to clear some of the logging debris in spots along the north end. The tract fronts Hwy 556 near the southeast corner, but the main points of access are deeded servitudes to both southern corners. See the aerial map for these routes. Wow! I can't believe all the negative comments about QHS. I was a student K-12th grade. Many QHS grads I know made a wonderful life after QHS, including my husband and I. We are a small country town and that makes for a small school. If you have that much to complain about, send your kids somewhere else. You don't mind giving QHS a bad name but you sit on your behind doing nothing about it! Mr. Shovan is a wonderful hardworking christian man. If there is anything to fuss about it should be the mess that Bertha Robinson left for him to clean up. Other than that, its a good place to grow up. The teacher that was talked about in Jr. High being rude and mean to students, she is gone. I know exactly the one you are talking about....pretty sure her name was Michelle....
