A school in a low income neighborhood and it shows. The pushing of homework on kindergarteners to up the schools low test scores, the starting school an hour before every other school, the lack of a kindergarten graduation but every other school has one, the lack of Christmas resources that are provided at other schools, the singling out of certain students in front of the class instead of notifying parents, the lack of communication from officials when there’s an issue with my children, the rude women who work in the front office (more specifically the white woman with the raspy smokers voice), the calling my phone for an “intervention” as if I’m some incompetent mother who can’t get her children to school, the making my 9 and 6 year old put their backpacks in the class before attending the book fair like they’re some criminals walking into a grocery store with a bag, there were hardly any school activities, only one CASUAL dance. Very disheartening to see other parents attending nice dress up dances for their kids, but I never got to. Very disheartening that others got to see their children graduate from kindergarten but the students at this school couldn’t be budgeted in for a graduation and instead are throwing a “celebration” during field week. A bottom barrel type school!

Parents are interested in knowing about their children's safety, social well-being, connections with staff, and access to extracurricular programs or field trips.This school is a hidden jewel. This school possesses some of the most excellent, caring teachers in the Rutherford County School District. I often wonder if my child would have survived at any other high school besides Holloway High. The small class atmosphere was a must for us. My child says the principal, Mrs. Drayton, is the most remarkable person you could ever meet, along with other staff. The only disadvantage is no bus for specific areas. With all the crowdedness in other schools, I would sacrifice again to take my child to this school. True statement on their website: Your child will not be invisible. As a parent you want to know that your child is more than number on someone's roll.call. Give them a call you won't regret it. 5- stars it is from top to bottom.

My son is going to this school right now, and he is having a hard time keeping up, but me and my husband will help him and try and keep his grades up and good.
