The only reason I wouldn't rate GREAT is because we are not State rated as GREAT schools. In reality though, Shafter,CA is a place where you would want to raise your kids in California. With a grade A+ City Council that considered education a priority by providing a learning center with teachers in colaboration with school districts, you will always find an option for your child. Shafter boast of a tight knitted community of family based, hard working people ethics. Shafter, CA.......... good ole' small town Love!! :)

"Quiet neighborhood. But Flowertree needs more Shafter PD presence. People do not obey the stop sign and we have had several big accidents at that intersection so far. People need to drive safely in residential neighborhoods. "

"It's a quiet, community oriented town that's really close to Bakersfield. You skip all the traffic and crime, but are still only 15-20 minutes away from great shopping. Shafter is friendly, very community minded, and has great people. Plus, the city government is in excellent financial shape, unlike a lot of cities in California. We love living here!"
