My grandson has entered the forth grade and has difficulties reading still trying to use the hooked on phonics method which obviously isn’t working well For three years we have asked for additional help to the point asked if he should be held back which was not a option since “no child is held back” LETS JUST KEEP PUSHING FORWARD (where things are going to harder) There has been very little assistance with this issue no tutoring or special reading classes VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS ASPECTI also felt after his mom had meetings and also verbalized her concerns both of us were treated differently by staff his teacher barely spoke nor looked at me Teachers in my experience here are young and very inexperienced in the profession which I get but he’s the one suffering
