What Locals Say about NoHo

  • Trulia User
"The neighborhood is changed a lot over the centuries, and in the last 10 years has been highly gentrified, but maintains some of its unique character and as much cleaner and safer than it used to be"
  • Trulia User
"Edgy nightlife, mix of old and new, lots of mom and pop restaurants. Has had a lot of change in the past 15 years"
  • Trulia User
"Very busy subway hub. Pretty reliable. You can get anywhere in the city from here. The subways in NYC feel increasingly less safe."
  • Trulia User
"The streets are not friendly for dogs. Dog parks are few and far between - and crowded. Many people do not pick up after their dogs."
  • Notgivenchy
"They might hate the salt that’s on the sidewalks as it really irritates puppies paws It’s rough on the dogs health. "
  • Notgivenchy
"Dogs are very welcome in this neighborhood, I see lots of dog walkers and owners at all times of the day. "
  • "i got mugged walking here"
  • "My husband and I live on Great Jones St. It is a downscaled version of Bond Street which is one block south. Bond has several very expensive shops (furniture, Daryl K, other clothing stores, Il Buco restaurant, and ritzy very expensive apartment buildings. Oh, and Bond St. is cobblestoned. All very frou frou. Great Jones St., has cracked pavement, some ritzy stores, Great Jones Cafe, a magnifient old but active FDNY station, the popular Great Jones Spa, and the always popular Five Points restaurant. But marring the block are all four corners of this one block between Lafayette and Bowery: an incompleted 16 story hotel, a huge multilevel outdoor garage, an empty fenced in lot, and an open-air auto repair shop. But I wouldn't live anywhere else! Great neighborhood, full of life, close to life's amenities, and excellent subway access. "
