Description

835 Heights offers the best of both worlds when it comes to apartment living. Because it has only 48 units, our residents know each other by name and enjoy being part of a small community. Amenities compare to those of larger complexes, though, with the recently renovated 1960s property featuring a beautifully landscaped courtyard with swimming pool, bike storage, and seating areas.

The location itself, on Heights Boulevard between 8th and 9th streets, proves convenient for both work and play. I-10 is just one mile away and I-610 just two. A jogging/walking trail path runs in front of the property and leads to the popular Heights Hike and Bike Trail. The neighborhood's many shopping, dining, and entertainment options are all within a short drive.

"I think the Heights is the most walkable area of the city since it was played as a planned community in 1892 with sidewalks and front porches and walking boulevards. The tree canopy is divine with some trees even stretching so far out that they are touching others across the street. There is a bicycle path right through the Heights that connects to the Bayou bike system. Rental bicycles are stationed all around. And the buses go straight from Heights Boulevard to downtown. I’ve even taken the bus to go to the Opera and Ubered home so as not to need to park. There are several farmers markets within blocks. It’s full of restaurants and quite a few bars too but not like Midtown or Washington so it’s not a kids drinking scene. More of a family feel in the Heights. "

"Neighbors look out for one another. The growing season is virtually all year long so Houston is very green giving me such an uplifted feeling. My past boss said I’d hate it and would be out in a year. Well, that was 15 years ago as I look out at puffy brilliant white clouds painting a blue sky with ducks gliding across the pond beyond my backyard. A cheery sight in February, the month of pansies, snapdragons, and squirrels checking their stashed of acorns from my neighborhood’s many live oak trees which keep lushly green year round."
