"This is a quiet, well maintained, pretty neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly and helpful when needed. This is a very safe community with a nice balance of retirees, couples, singles and young families. Its proximity to Joint Base Andrews and Bolling Air Force Base makes it ideal for military personnel and their families. The schools are excellent. I loved living here and was sad when we had to leave. I highly recommend this neighborhood! "

"I lived in a near by city, in PG County but have many associates who live and grew up in this neighborhood. (I now reside in Virginia) Back in the early 90's, Largo was known for being nice, where the spoiled kids lived, who dressed nice and had 2 parent house holds. The reputation is on a fast decline due to the high rate of crime!!! It is getting horrific. They had 2 separate cases of mother daughter murders within a month of each other, in this community, almost 2 years ago with no answers or leads to this day 7/12/11. Crimes involving rape, robbery, break-ins and drug dealing are occurring way too often. And it's a shame, because I hate to see a once respected African American community deteriorate. Yes, there are still some good people in this neighborhood. I would say, if you have children, this is NOT the area you want to move to. If you're single or married without kids, it's an okay place for a "starter" home. "
