"Columbia is VERY pet friendly and courteous. It's very rare to see someone not picking up after their furry friend. Also Columbia is known for it's trails and some apartment complexes have dog areas. There's really nothing negative about having pets here, it's an equal opportunity for humans and furry friends alike "

"I've lived off of Knighthood Lane for almost a year. It's a very walkable area, close to several parks, down the street from an excellent library, within walking distance of the Giant grocery store, and within walking distance of an elementary school. There are tons of walking paths, great for walking your dog or getting some exercise. The traffic is low/moderate. Parking is ample. Plenty of great restaurants around (especially The Great Sage), about a 10 minute drive to Columbia Mall/Theater and very close to Merriweather Post Pavillian. I feel safe here and haven't had any bad experiences, except for one rare occasion where a guy was driving on the wrong side of the road. The community is nice, children out playing, landscapers keep the grounds looking nice, people gardening in their front yards, etc. Unlike the last place I lived there aren't people just hanging out in the parking lots at all hours or beeping their horns at night - major plus. I can't say I really know my neighbors, but people are still friendly here and say hi to one another when we see each other in the parking lot/picking up mail. I haven't had any problems with neighbors being noisy. All around, it's a very pleasant place to live."
