"Great commute. Next to bus station. They're skywalks that are easy to access with a map inside of the skywalk."

"Fun and convenient even for kids. Skate park, ice skating and arcade games. Very busy with people. Homeless people and broken glass down Allies. However Ded Moines does have people clean down here."

"Very Friendly small town Feel but not cleanly and nothing for kids to do. I love downtown, but it needs a lot of work with kid Friendly activities and picking up the streets. I see workers but I don't typically see them actually pick up"

Dog waste bags are provided every couple blocks downtown in case you don't have any on hand. The Riverwalk dog park is a short drive/bike ride away for off leash exercise."

"Downtown Des Moines is small, easily navigated, and is pretty quiet. There are usually plenty of events on the weekends at the Wells Fargo Arena. Court Avenue has plenty of bars and restaurants. There are numerous other restaurants within half a mile. There are plenty of parks and a nice Riverwalk. One the other side of the river are plenty of shops and restaurants. The Capitol building is over there as well and is one of the best looking I have been to. The only issue is that everything closes pretty early. I don't mind because I am normally asleep by 10-11."
