"Easy access to the interstate or highways from any part of town. I usually commute to West Des Moines and it's usually an easy 40-minute drive. Still plenty close to the Des Moines area without being in it. "

"Ames has a great downtown with Farmers Market and events sorting thru fall. Great outdoors trails and parks used year round by ISU students and residents."

"Many, many dog owners and lovers in the neighborhood. Dog walking is a common, daily activity for most of these people. Even non dog owners seem to like to see the dogs out and about. Owners are conscientious about picking up after their pets."

"Many dog owners walk this street to get to the park in the neighborhood. It’s a perfect place to walk dogs. Many people here have dogs."

"extremely nice for college. within walking distance to hyvee and the bus stop for isu. which is only a 2 minute drive away anyways."

"Parks are leash-only, but observant and respectful owners can have their dogs off-leash. Lots of good sidewalks and open prairie for dogs to sniff around. "
- Kari Z.

"There is currently a park for kids with special needs being built, lots of young families, and not what you would assume of a college town."

"This is within easy walking distance to Iowa State’s campus. I usually bike unless it’s raining or snowing, and that ride is super quick. It’s also a very short drive to HyVee for groceries. "
