"Nice neighborhood where neighbors watch out for each other. Community oriented, neighbors at least know of each other."
  • Rgfb
"Family friendly and neighbors know each other. Private but off the main road. Close to the ferry and boat launches and beaches. Town does a good job of maintaining the snow. Close to amenities and Major highway, Canada border, Lake Placid and the Adirondacks."
  • Tina Recor
"Great neighborhood with wonderful neighbors. Winters are long and cold. Ideal for hikers, skiers, and snowmobiles."
  • Tina Recor
"There is nothing unique, but it’s a nice place to live. Pleasant people but cold weather. Low crime and pretty area in the mountains."
  • Tina Recor
"It’s a quiet neighborhood with friendly residents. Dog friendly and lots of green space available to residents. "
  • Tina Recor
"Currently there is no dog park on premises for dogs to be able to run off leash. The neighborhood as a whole is very dog friendly- with of course the exceptions."
  • chrystall Fader
"It’s relatively simple and easy to get around providing you have a vehicle or live in a bus route. Otherwise it’s too expensive to pay for a taxi. "
  • chrystall Fader
"War of 1812 event every year ,and the mayors cup. Other than that it’s not very special. It’s a sink hole and dead end town. "
  • Rtlat3
"They would like friendly people that surround the area. Dog walkers also have close access to the park where people frequently walk their pets. Theres also a space to throw a ball to dog in the park"
  • Sarahwcramer
"There are many programs and opportunities for kids to be involved in downtown. There are many safe neighborhoods but some areas that are not ideal due to student housing or run down rentals. Overall a very nice place to raise a family."
  • Ashley L.
"I see many dog owners walking their dogs frequently . There are many dog owners on this street. Thank you!"
  • Rtlat3
"Many people own dogs. This is a great area where many people walk their dogs. There is also a dog park nearby"
  • Rtlat3
"This is a very safe family friendly neighborhood. This is a great place to raise a family. A town that is surrounded by beautiful lake champlain and the Adirondacks "
  • Amanda D.
"People regularly walk their dogs, and pick up after them. People are friendly and the restaurants nearby allow for patrons w/ dogs to join you in the patio areas "
  • Steven.pdunn
"Small town nothing to do. People here think they are “fast paced’ New Yorkers which is hilarious. Worst customer service I’ve ever seen and everything is overpriced to pay for NYC but 5 hours away."
  • Lilbluepickle
"Good school, friendly people, a lot of things to do outside. Plattsburgh has moms groups and a lot of fre events to do with children often during the summer"
  • Carolyn K.
"Great place to raise a family. Safe and sheltered- almost too much. Very little diversity of opinion or cultures, has its own issues; but all small towns do. If you’re involved with your kids and your family you can easily work around this. "
  • Rtlat3
"This is a very safe community with little to no crime. By crime I mean real crimes such as theft, robbery, rape, murder. "
  • Victoria B. R.
"We have lived here with The Comedy Boxers for nearly a year now. We can walk downtown to pubs and restaurants and walk to ski trails. "
  • Victoria B. R.
"We are in a historic district, with a variety of homes, both owner occupied and multi family rentals for college students. "
  • Harold B.
"bad area of the city, noisy at night, train going by three times during the midnight hour to six blasting, wrong way drivers taking the corners at 60 mph in the middle of the night, lots of shady looking characters in the vicinity, theres a reason the prices of the houses are so cheap"
  • Rhartmann
"The Plattsburgh area is a small but growing community that offers great opportunities for a excellent family life."
