8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNew to this school + State! We went on a lot of school tours around the area and was very impressed with Lincoln. Once August started we immediately started volunteering with their PTSA Team. Everyone was so welcoming and helped answer any questions needed. You can tell there is a strong community here of teachers, staff and parents. I’m impressed as too how long a lot of the teachers have been at Lincoln and are happy to be here. These teachers really care about their subject and know exactly how to teach individual students. Lincoln’s Theater Program was the highlight to our year. Amazing production crew and support from our Lincoln Community. WOW! They really take this program seriously and have lots of rehearsals. They are the example of PASSION! You can feel it! You can see it! Parents are allowed to get involved at school which is a PLUS in my book! There are so many ways to be involved like helping with events, fundraising, student store, parent eyes during lunchtime. There are meetings that you can attend - General PTSA for updates, DEIA, Resources, etc. Information is spread through their site, weekly newsletters, robo text messages, in school signage and social platforms. Most importantly, everyone is welcome, involved and included. Thank you for having this special place for all.Parent Review6mo ago - McKinley Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an extremely engaged parent here at McKinley who is also of mixed race, I am troubled with some of the reviews here and want to take a second to address them from a parent's perspective. We moved to this area specifically so that our children could attend this school so we had high expectations. The bottom line is that McKinley meets our high standards for delivering superior education and we love this school even more because of our principal Dr. DW! I find her to be receptive, engaging, creative and WARM. You can tell she loves these kids and is committed to helping them succeed. Some of the teachers have been there for 30+ years, while others are new so there is a blend between practices and I like hearing that teachers are working together and collaborating to help my son reach our literacy goals. This is a very multicultural school and also Title 1 meaning that we have a blend of various socio-economic backgrounds. This an OPPORTUNITY for my children to be exposed to new cultures, different ways of thinking and building an environment that is accepting and nurturing. I like that we celebrate this diversity in the school and that they welcome families to be included in initiatives.Just came back from an awesome pizza and math night for families and I'm really jazzed about how many families showed up to learn from math experts and had FUN! I'm also excited about the recent arts night, our multicultural day, talent show, fall harvest and upcoming Jog-a-thon! This is an incredibly fun and special community. Everyone is welcome to help build it into what they envision, but you can't expect teachers to do it all. So roll up your sleeves and come and grow this community with us, our kids will be better for it.Parent Review1mo ago - Santa Monica High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are having a great experience with 2 kids at Samohi. Yes it’s big but the separate houses each with its own principal and advisor staff makes it feel more accessible. So much work is being done on campus to upgrade the student experience, it’s only getting better and better. I suggest getting involved with a sport or a club and making it a family endeavor. Ask questions, find the opportunities. If you don’t like something, find another focus or work to make it better. Patents: Meet the staff, volunteer, be a part of the solution. Like anything in life, you get out what you put in.Parent Review8mo ago - Check out schools near 4231-4239 S Centinela Ave.
