8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our second year here, and I have no doubt my child is receiving a good education. The teachers, thus far, have been excellent. I'll admit, I was a bit turned off by the fact that I was unable to reach my child's teacher directly last year and had to go through the classroom mom to communicate with her.The school is not very diverse, and the parents appear to be quite cliquey. My daughter didn't make tons of friends her first year, but the few she did make seem very solid. I also had a couple of run-ins with one particular office staff member whom I believe to be the Office Supervisor. I have been treated very curtly by her on several occasions, and I have also witnessed her treating other women of color in this manner. Coincidence—or does she address the white moms in the same way?I brought this to the attention of the principal, who said she would address it. I am concerned that there could be some cronyism at play, but time will tell.Parent Review9mo ago18 Reviews - Rogers Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feel compelled to write a review in the hopes that I can save another family from experiencing the hell that is Rogers Middle School. Hate speech, threats of violence and actual physical violence run rampant in this school. Teachers turn a blind eye and in some cases are a bully themselves. The principal acts like a child and is not respected as an authority figure by the students. They think the best way to deal with violent students is to talk it out. The students know they can get away with things and there is no discipline. I feel as though it’s generous to rate this school a one because my child will have to deal with a lifetime of trauma and that deserves a negative number in my opinion.Parent Review2mo ago18 Reviews - Wilson High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTaught here for a number of years. Moved my own kids to Orange County because I didn't want them attending here. The administration was just horrible. The whole district is more worried about their reputation, looking good and garnering awards from no name organizations. The administration will post rules and policies but are no where to be found enforcing them. Long Beach does not seem to get rid of bad principals either. Instead they just shuffle them around to other sites. A colleague of mine called this the "dance of the lemons."Teacher Review1y ago18 Reviews - Check out schools near 5701 E 2nd St.

"I’m a stay at home mom so my commute is minimal. I take my kids to the local school and go to the local gym. Occasionally I go to the grocery store. All of these trips are less than five minutes. "

"Most days are fine. However, there can be some pretty bad traffic on 2nd St when there are events. Depending on construction, there can also be heavy traffic going towards PCH"

"No dog parks. I’m not a dog owner so I’m not the best source to ask on the matter. The neighborhood seems very dog friendly though"
