I'm stuck at this school for the next few months. Overall, It's an okay school.Student Review9y ago10 Reviews - Ocia A. Peters Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter started Peters in 2019. The teachers, office staff, and principles on both the k-3 and 4-6 sides have been fantastic with communication and easy to reach. We have been very impressed with the quality and level of the curriculum she has been given. We were disappointed that her last school sent out randomly ripped out pages of a workbook as homework but at Peters, the homework is thoughtfully put together and is challenging in a fun way. The accelerated reader program and party for those who reach their reading goals are also very impressive and have given these kids a real love of reading that definitely sets them apart from other elementary schools. The teachers genuinely seem to care for the students and volunteer a lot of their time for extracurricular activities, e.g book clubs, trunk or treat, etc. especially during distance learning. The city of Garden Grove and GGUSD also does a fantastic job of promoting and celebrating academic achievement in the community. It's great to see the city banners that highlight which colleges the graduating students are going to and which elementary school they are from. The kids in the school are all very nice and we haven't had any knowledge of bullying or drama between the students. My daughter's only complaint was the lack of play equipment and no science fair (yet).Parent Review5y ago4 Reviews - Santiago High School

"Some neighborhoods are placing signs for dog owners to pick up their dog’s turds. It’s likely some folks have been not so good about their dog droppings"

"Great place but check the schools and some packed of neighborhoods for gang activity .I’ve been working in this area for quite a long time and I can tell you it’s just like every other city as part of the bad neighborhoods and gang activity and pockets of good neighborhoods with some middle class"

"Beautiful neighborhood well taken care of and feels so safe to live! I just wish they had more affordable living prices in the area for small families and more income based communities. Other than that it is a very pleasant place to live."

"The part of Garden Grove I live in currently is heavily graffitied and unsafe at night. As someone who works graveyards for a nearby business, I am desperately seeking new living arrangements. I have been flashed at the bus stop and followed by people at night. "
