"People are constantly walking dogs, and it is a good environment for dogs to walk with minimal hills with some turns"
  • Bob J. L.
"The yards are generally 1 acre or more in size. No fences or outbuildings are allowed which means the area between the houses is open, giving kids outstanding places to run and play."
  • Bob J. L.
"Most have 1 or more dogs and respect those who do not. Most cleanup after their own pets when walking them. Barking in the neighborhood is minimal given the number in the neighborhood."

"Wonderful safe community; beautiful setting where all age groups live harmoniously. an incredible best place in Lake County to raise a family; appeals to all ages and interests. Schools are great, far less issues than other in other surrounding areas. Uultiimately no matter the school district, it's the students who differentiate themseslves. "

" There are no municipal connections except for fresh water. All the waste dumps in your front yard. There are no sidewalks. You must walk in the street. The speed limit is 25mph, but due to severe cutbacks, there are almost no police. Every once in a while you see a plain clothed police officer walking through town, or more commonly riding a bicycle to save the town money. They are more worried about preventing burglaries here than public safety. Under no circumstances are the speed limits enfored withing the town. Every once in a while a squad car goes out on the main road and gives a few tickets to speeders from other towns, but there is no enforecement inside the town. Since the streets are so narrow, and the police almost non existent, the towns wealthy in their luxury cars come right at you at 40mph, and swere at the last second missing you. What do they do about this problem. Ha Ha Ha. On the towns police controlled web page, they warn pedestrians, and bicyclists to keep out of the way of car as not to impede traffic. At no time do they EVER ask motorists to slow down when pedestrians are on the roadway, Its as if they expect you to get killed out there, and don't care at all. Somebody distributes lawn signs to many in town houses that warns of children playing in the street and to slow down, and the cars do slow down to the speed limit around kids, but older people are fair game for the Mercedes and BMW crown to mow down. There are many courteous people living in this town, many of them very nice people, but the lack of sidewalks, and the speed crazed drivers make it very dangerous to walk anywhere. If you have a dog, you will spend many hours a week walking the roads, as fences are not allowed in this town. Electric fences are allowed, but in this area they have many power glitches, and then you see peoples dogs running all over the roadways. It becomes a circus. Its a nice town, but since the roads are dangerous, it gets weird here."

"Great private, country area. Lots of peace and quiet but close to all amenities, train stations, major highways."
  • Jhhajny
"I know the area, it's a small pocket of unicorporated Lake county with low taxes but access to Lake Zurich schools, library and shopping. They've been overlooked by barrington and Hawthorn Woods where taxes on a home like this would be DOUBLE. Definately worth a look."
