  • Jason M.
"I've lived on this block for the last 3 years and I like it here. This area is very quiet and the people are nice and friendly. Also there are lots of big American Toads jumping all around. They are friendly too and let you hold them. I have 2 big ones living in my apartment. I recommend this area to everyone. See you all soon."
  • Trulia User
"there are a lot of families in this area with plenty of great parks and pools, even a amusement park close by."
  • Juli
"there are a lot of fog owners. most do not spend enough time with their animals and I see a lot of unruly petspulling their owners "
  • Derek R.
"Friendly area with great neighbors and great public school systems. With great sports and extra curricular activities "
  • Madeline F. .
"Not a whole lot of area to walk dogs. Around the playground and field. No dog park or anything. Also there are only trash receptacles at the playground. If you’re anywhere else and do pick up after your dog, you’re carrying for a while."
  • Chanbear10
"the park and streets dogs are welcome everywhere around here the town is dog friendly I own dog myself"
  • Phethia J.
"I’ve lived here for 1 year and I wish I explored more the town is nice. The buildings have a lot of character and potential , but unfortunately you see many businesses closed but new establishments have been coming in so Pottsville is definitely on the come up."
  • Rachel V.
"Block parties, bars with entertainment every night, parks, job opportunities, nice people, public transit"
  • Melissa G. R.
"the crime is starting to get pretty bad around this area so the only advice I can give you is I would not walk anywhere after dark without somebody with you anymore"
  • Christina L.
"Pottsville has a good school district. It is trying to bounce back to its glory days one activity one new buisness at a time. "
  • Debra U.
"many families in my area lots of good restaurants we have one park in our area lots of houses lots of neighbors very nice people in our neighborhood"
  • Amanda K.
"Never let your kids walk around alone. There are a lot of creeps out here and child molesters. Also watch your kids when walking cause drug addicts leave there needles around. "
  • Melissa G. R.
"all the kids have to walk to school from 5th grade on up to 12th. School buses only run for the elementary school"
  • Melissa G. R.
"my neighborhood is special because I live on the same block is Hinterland brewery America's oldest brewery"
  • Dulcee J.
"Dogs are welcome anywhere in our neighborhood. I've never had any problems when walking them. Please clean up after your pet though! "
  • Dulcee J.
"There are no events that I know of in my neighborhood. Maybe around the other side of town but not here"
  • Dee
"I agree with previous comment. Police always on this street, West Race St. Pottsville, PA. Lots of drugs, in area. People walking up & down street, all hours of the night. Houses are very old, and falling down. Alot of vacant houses. Most Landlords are from out of area, do not care about property, just collecting rent. Majority of residents, do not work. Depressed area. Pottsville School is really good, though. Very few stores, restaurants, need a car; very little public transportation. Streets are in very poor condition & not clean. City has lots of litter. Locals moving out (getting pushed out). Lived here most of my life, watched the place, deteriorate."
  • Shawn H.
"Pottsville is a pretty good town. People for the most part are friendly. Downtown has currently one parking garage. Some downtown businesses do still exist."
  • Loriekauffman
"my neighborhood has great access to public transportation and the commute downtown is 3 minutes away. the shopping small is 5 minutes away and the closest Walmart is 10 minutes away."
  • Carla K.
"Alot of police activity. Some buildings are run down. Not a great place to live. The schools are ok, not great. Drug activity seems to be high. I would not want to raise my children here. It's okay if your single, or have grown children. Beware of deadbeat landlords."
  • Jwonchalk
"Very friendly great for kids accessible to play grounds and ball fields and straight streets for learning to ride bikes "
  • Tammie S.
"I don't really talk to my neighbors they don't like my dog so I have nothing nice to say about them especially when they kick my dogs through the fence"
  • Jodi
"i lived hee for 14 yrs and i want to move. this place still seems like its back in the early 1900 heating their houses with coal and oil. but once your here its like youre trapped, the pay is not good. if you want to do really go to good restaurants or such its about a 30-45 min drive. wish i jad never came here."
  • melissa
"this is a great area! short walking distance to downtown and grocery stores. also very family oriented neighborhood."
