5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOne year at this school and I transferred out. I was told that I was not allowed to walk my child to class after I brought her in late after a drs. appt. I called the superintendent he agreed with the principal and later was told by the principal I could walk her to class but he would have to follow me. I was astonished at what I as being told. if you're wondering No I was not a problem parent nor did I give them any reason to do this I was new to this schooI its just there rules. As far as education the school was ok not exceeding but not bad either in my opinion. I gave it one star because it seems like they just want the kids no parents unless they say you can come, by the way Im not a parent that always come to their child schools matter of fact besides walking them in sometimes in the morning or after a dr. appt. or occasional luch with them Im never at the school unless the teacher calls me for a meeting. I'm not trying to bash the school I just thought parents needed to know but if you are ok with that then you my like the school.Parent Review11y ago2 Reviews - Garrison-Pilcher Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is amazing. It has just introduced a new gifted/magnet program named the Maximizing Education to Realize Intellectual Transformation Program (MERIT). The program has in my opinion the best academics in the area. This includes the Thomasville City, Colquitt County, Mitchell County, Pelham City, Grady County, Decatur County, and Brooks County School Districts. The school constantly does better than the Thomasville Scholars Academy the only magnet school in the city. Now at TCCHS students are given the opportunity to submit GPAs on a 5.0 scale. It's just amazing now. Before when the former superintendent was in office, the school was just horrible. Now that the new superintendent he has made a 180 degree turn not just for the school but also the Thomas County School District. TCCHS has taken students from the Thomasville Scholars Academy, Brookwood School, and Thomasville High School due to its presence in academics and athletics. It has been rated the best high school in southwest Georgia by local magazines.Parent Review12y ago3 Reviews - Thomas County Middle School

"First Friday concerts in the amphitheater. Once a month the have a sip and stroll even. Bring in a band and you can walk around town with your drinks. People come up from Tallahassee to participate. All the restaurants are popping and the music is pretty good. "

"I have a five minute drive to work. There is minimal traffic and roads are well maintained. School traffic guards are always out in the city and cops help with county school traffic. Overall the commute is amazing. "

" The streets are nice and wide and we have a lot of dog owners in the neighborhood. There isn't much traffic so it makes it ideal for dog walking, bicycling and people walking. "

"Safe area to raise a family. Their is little to no traffic in the neighborhood. Neighbors keep an eye on each other. Very safe for your kids to either play outside and walk the street without any big worries that would come as being a parent."

"Bought and paid for my home in 2018. Renovated and landscaped it completely. The neighborhood is well kept, I have lived here now for 7 months. I love my home and for the most part the neighbors are quite and keep to them selves. You always have that one though, that gossips about everything and everyone...lol. Everyone has one in their neighborhood. Rachel Lane is Centrally located and convenient to everything ."

"Pet lovers are everywhere. It could be quite annoying for those who do not have pets. Some owners allow their pets to use the restroom in other yards. But overall the neighborhood is quiet, safe, and relaxing. "
