Tahoe Lakefront Glass Home Listed for $43 Million

A modern, angular six-story lakefront stunner on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, Nevada is on the market for $43,000,000, making it one very expensive lake house. It trails only behind the $75,000,000 Tranquility estate as the priciest property in Lake Tahoe.

As seen in the Wall Street Journal, the home sits on an impressive half acre and boasts almost 100 feet of lake frontage, punctuated by a steel pier. After 9 years of construction, the home was completed by philanthropists Linda and David Shaheen in 2010. Built from the ground up (literally), only the unassuming garage is viewable from the street. The rest of the six-story home is built into a slope and faces out directly onto the lake.

The listing describes the home as “architecturally significant and spectacularly engineered to maximize views.” The home has sheer walls of glass, a glass elevator and a 6-story glass stairwell to ensure that all views are accessible at all times.

While the home is 8,694 square feet, it has only 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, but it does boast a gym, spa and some impressive living areas.
