Once owned by legendary Hollywood actor and “The King Of Cool,” Steve McQueen, the 500+ acre Pioneer Moon Ranch in Hailey, ID just hit the market for $7.4 million!

At the foot of the Pioneer Mountains, the well-maintained and tastefully improved ranch compound is situated between two branches of the East Fork and designed to maximize privacy and comfort – a must for a Hollywood retreat.

The log home was built in 1990 and features 1,410+ square feet with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Remodeled by the current owners in 2004, the home has a spacious kitchen, living/dining area with large river rock fireplace, and loft area used as a library, as well as a separate 1,731+ sq. ft. “annex” structure that lies next to the home and offers additional living, entertainment and storage space.  The annex blends seamlessly with the residence and features a living room with bar area, dining room, library, bedroom and 1.5 baths.  Both the residence and annex open to a well-manicured lawn complete with fire pit that is tailor made for an outdoor gathering of friends and family.

An idyllic winter home, McQueen’s wife once told The Examiner that “When the snow falls, we don’t lose it for five months.” The future buyer of this ranch better have some serious faux fur at the ready.

Additional secluded building sites exist on the ranch in the event an owner were interested in building a new main residence. Pioneer Moon Ranch lies in the center of one of Sun Valley’s most peaceful, secluded, and least developed areas and represents the largest property currently available for purchase in the upper Wood River Valley.
