Rosie O'Donnell Flips Out In New York City, May Sell To Designer Michael Kors

Rosie O’Donnell may be a rich and famous talk show host, but she’s also becoming proficient in the art of the house flip. After selling her Chicago brownstone for a slight loss after less than a year of ownership, Rosie is going for a big profit in New York City, where she recently listed her duplex penthouse for $10.95M. Rosie paid $8M for the 4 bedroom, 3 bath home, so if she gets full asking on the luxe penthouse, she’ll walk away with almost $3M in profit – more than enough to cover her losses from the Chicago sale.

She may already even have a buyer, as almost-bilionaire designer and “Project Runway” judge Michael Kors was spotted touring the home. According to the New York Post, Kors is on a feverish hunt for a new property in New York City, and he seemed to love Rosie’s pad. Will he make an offer and take it off O’Donnell’s hands? Time will tell on that one.

The penthouse apartment sits atop a converted hospital building in Greenwich Village that has been updated with every possible amenity. O’Donnell’s for-sale unit has a spacious living and dining room that transitions onto an expansive 429 square feet private terrace offering North and South city views. The penthouse also has a large chefs kitchen and an oversized master suite that features a large windowed walk-in closet and a luxurious master bath. Building amenities include 24 hour doorman and concierge, fitness center and rooftop garden.

The Post reports that “Rosie loved the apartment but needs more space…she’s selling the 12th Street place because she ‘prefers suburban life.'”

She also recently sold her $16M property on Miami’s Star Island.

Dennis Mangone of Douglas Elliman is Rosie’s listing agent.
