Being part of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet certainly has its benefits. And for new Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, that includes the opportunity to snap up a prime piece of Washington, DC, real estate. That’s why Reince just purchased a five-bed, five-and-a-half-bath home in picturesque, nearby Alexandria, VA, for $1.249 million. Although his longtime home is a three-bed, two-bath house back in Kenosha, WI, which he bought back in 2003 for $262,900, it looks as if Reince wanted an upgrade from his Wisconsin digs to a place a tad closer to the nation’s capital.
Measuring in at 6,194 square feet, the craftsman-style home is located on a sprawling 1-acre lot with an expansive yard, great for his two children. Built in 2016, the home embraces modern amenities while maintaining a cozy, welcoming environment. A cascading staircase in the foyer streams upward to the second level, while an upgraded gourmet kitchen with a casual dining area is ideal for a busy family. There’s also a formal dining room, an office with large, bright windows, and a comfortable family room with a stone fireplace. The fully finished basement has a rec room, as well as a bedroom and full bath for a guest or au pair.
Reince certainly isn’t the only new White House employee who snagged some prime Washington, DC, property in anticipation of a new gig: Last month, Dr. Ben Carson, the new secretary of Housing and Urban Development, dropped $1.22 million on a Colonial estate in Vienna, VA. And back in January, first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, rented out a $5.295 million mansion in DC’s Kalorama neighborhood — coincidentally the same area where former President Barack Obama and his family have been living since his term ended.
