“American Idol” Judge Jackson Loses on Sale

Oh no, dawg!  Former American Idol judge Randy Jackson just lost a chunk of change on the sale of his Tarzana, CA, home.

The Grammy-winning superproducer purchased the home in May 2005 for $2,725,000 and just sold the 5-bedroom, 8-bathroom, 5,878-square-foot place for $1,900,000. That’s $825,000 less than Jackson paid when he bought it. Ouch.

He listed the gated estate for $2,199,000 in June 2014, price-chopped it to $1,990,000, and then quickly found a buyer … but not one willing to pay full asking price on the gated estate in the El Caballero area of Tarzana.

The buyer got a bargain-basement price on a large custom-built estate with a newer gourmet kitchen boasting high-end amenities, including granite countertops, stainless steel Viking appliances, and a Sub-Zero fridge/freezer.

In the master suite, Jackson’s house has his/her bathrooms with direct access to a spa. All five bedrooms are oversized, with their own en-suite bathrooms and walk-in closets.

The exterior features a sparkling swimming pool and manicured, lush green lawn. Beyond the pool, the property also features a stand-alone guest house with full kitchen and central air and heat.

Kenneth Margolis of Soetheby’s International Realty was Jackson’s agent, and Alan Parness of Rodeo Realty represented the buyer.
