Peek Inside the Homes of This Year’s Golden Globe Nominees

Check out the gorgeous homes that belong to 2015’s brightest stars.

It’ll be a banner year at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards — and not just because some of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters are set to walk the red carpet. (And then pretend they’re not upset when they don’t go home with a trophy.) We’ll see everyone from Steve Carell and Benedict Cumberbatch to Helen Mirren and Amy Adams reppin’ the film categories, while the TV folks, like Kevin Spacey and Louis C.K., will sulk in the corner.

Nah, it’s all fun and games at the Globes, especially since this is one of the few awards shows where alcohol is provided. That surely makes for a good acceptance speech or two. Coupled with hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey taking the stage for round two, it should be a don’t-miss event for celeb watchers.

But did you know that some of La-La Land’s most notable nominees also had some serious real estate transactions lately? Here are a few of our favorites:

Reese Witherspoon’s million-dollar paradise in the Pacific Palisades has a gorgeous pool and awesome views.

Reese Witherspoon: It’s hard not to love this Tennessee beauty turned Los Angeleno. The Wild nominee recently sold off her Brentwood compound for over $10 million so she could move into a palatial Pacific Palisades, CA, spread, which has plenty of room for all her Golden Globes. The $12.7 million home features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and 4,344 square feet of space for the Lil’ Spoon, her husband, Jim Toth, and three children. No doubt Reese likes to sip a margarita by the crystal-blue pool while overlooking the West Side of LA.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s lushly landscaped, estate-sized lot has trails and a large, sprawling, grassy yard.

Jake Gyllenhaal: The Nightcrawler nominee likes his privacy, which is why we were surprised when he put his gated compound that he’s lived in since 2005 on the market. The Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama nominee’s very private estate had walking trails to take his many girlfriends on long strolls, and a large, sprawling yard.

But it turns out, he just found a buyer in October for this Los Angeles spread. So where’d Jake move? He currently seems to be living the jet-set life, though back in 2013 Jake was spotted shopping for a bachelor pad in New York’s trendy SoHo neighborhood, according to the New York Post, so maybe that’s where he’s been hiding out these days.

Jennifer Aniston’s spectacular Asia-inspired home has fantastic features including a Lynx outdoor cooking area and a stunning zero-edge pool and spa.

Jennifer Aniston: The Cake nominee and her eternal fiancé, Justin Theroux, moved into this uber-relaxing Asian Zen rental home back in 2012 while her big splurge, a $21 million Bel Air, CA, pad, was undergoing renovations. Total rent for this luxe home fit for a geisha? A sweet $40,000 per month.

But that’s just pocket change when you’ve made a million dollars an episode for Friends, right? Anyway, the Asia-inspired home finally sold last February for a cool $9.9 mil, and Aniston was able to move into her new digs: a 3.5-acre mansion with a swimming pool, guest house, and vineyard. That’s right, a vineyard, in case Jen feels like heading out back and stomping on some grapes.

The dining room opens to a peaceful, beautifully landscaped grassy yard with a custom outdoor fireplace and stone waterfall, perfect for Joaquin Phoenix.

Joaquin Phoenix: The unusual actor, made famous for playing Johnny Cash (beside Reese Witherspoon as June Carter Cash) in Walk the Line and a deranged wannabe rapper version of himself in I’m Still Here, will return to the red carpet at the Golden Globes for his role in Inherent Vice. Joaquin calls the Hollywood Hills home, and it sounds like he loves it there, seeing as back in 2013 he bought the home next door to his own. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom, 2,511-square-foot home features an outdoor fireplace and stone waterfall, in case Phoenix feels like having some friends over to explore their “inherent vices.”

Beautiful canyon and city views are just a few of the many amenities of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s home.

Emily Blunt: Let’s be blunt about it (see what we did there?): Into the Woods nominee Emily Blunt and her hubby, John Krasinski, are living the good life. The adorable couple not only had their first child in February 2014, but they also bought a brand-new love nest in May. The Blunt-Krasinski household clearly will spend some time outside with their little one, seeing as the home has a massive pool and spa with stone patios, a covered lanai, flat lawn, and garden. The $2.75 million home, which features four bedrooms and four bathrooms, also has stunning views of the canyon and downtown LA.
