New York Mets third baseman David Wright has been looking to turn a nice profit on the sale of his 4,000 square-foot, 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom Flatiron bachelor pad/penthouse – yet has had no luck. Originally listed for $7,850,000, Wright would have made a decent profit on the $6,100,000 he paid for the place in 2006. Except no buyer has stepped up to the plate, forcing Wright to go down the road of price reductions. To make matters worse, we hear rumblings that the current list price of $6,950,000 is still too high for this modern penthouse. Keep an eye on this property, sports fans. It might soon become a whole lot less expensive.
Wright has since moved on to a $12,000-a-month rental at Lucida building on the Upper East Side while he awaits a buyer for the penthouse.
