‘LA Confidential’ actress, Kim Basinger, is selling the fixer upper she owns directly next door to her longtime Woodland Hills, CA estate. Basinger moved into the neighborhood in 1977, when she paid a mere $158,000 for the property she still calls home. In 2001, the house right next door came on the market, and the actress, who by then had appeared in dozens of movies and TV series, snapped up the home for $540,000.
Flash forward 16 years, and Basinger is ready to say bye-bye to the neighboring home, which doesn’t seem to have received a lot of love over the years. Marketed as needing ‘some work’ and sold “as is,” the property has a list price of $974,000 and features two bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,581 square feet.
The home’s redeeming qualities are its primo location and great bones. Situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, the charming home has desirable open-beam construction and a very deep lot that backs to mature trees for nice privacy.
From celebrity standards, Basinger’s for-sale second home leaves much to be desired, but for the right buyer who wants to tackle a project and get into a great neighborhood, Basinger’s property has “dream home” potential.
