Quicker than a wink of an eye- or a crack of a whip, in this case- Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan is moving out of his Nichols Canyon home. Dornan, who put the home up for rent (to the tune of $14,000 per month) back in 2016, first bought the mid-century modern estate back in 2016 for $2.843 million. Now, it’s on the market for $3.195 million.
Located in the ritzy Nichols Canyon section of the Hollywood Hills, the three-bedroom, four-bathroom home is an architectural stunner. Measuring 2,510 square feet, the circa-1959 home is a mid-century modern treasure reportedly designed by renowned architect Edward H. Fickett. Light streams in through a signature central atrium and floor-to-ceiling sliders, which open to a spacious swimming pool, spa, fire pit, and expansive patio area, ideal for entertaining — but not the Christian Grey type of entertaining, we hope. Think casual barbecue entertaining, complete with Dornan’s children and some celebrity friends who also hail from the Nichols Canyon area, like Vince Vaughn and Harry Potter star Tom Felton.
This isn’t the first luxe property in Jamie’s real estate portfolio. In 2015, he snagged a five-bedroom estate dating back to the 17th century in the British town of Gloucestershire for £1,950,000 (just over $2.6 million). Spread out over 9 acres, that luxurious compound comes complete with formal gardens, a tennis court, and even an American barn and riding area. Anyway, Jamie’s not the only Fifty Shades connection that’s going big with real estate lately. The book’s author, E.L. James, owns a $7.25 million luxurious estate in West Hollywood, CA. That’s a lot of green thanks to Grey!
