Holly Hunter Lists Her Brooklyn Townhouse For $4.5M

She may be known for her Southern drawl, but the actress calls New York home.

Here’s some news we’d sure like to broadcast. Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter just listed her four-bed, three-bath townhouse in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Fort Greene for $4.5 million. And in typical celebrity style, it’s “big” and it’s “sick.” (Not to be confused with Holly’s hit film The Big Sick, of course.) Some of Hollywood’s hottest names have flocked to Brooklyn in recent years, with stars like John Krasinski, Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Rock having owned there in the past.

Centrally located in the Fort Greene Historic District, the 3040-square-foot townhouse is an iconic piece of Brooklyn history. Built in 1864, the Italianate-style brownstone is filled with unique original details- think five decorative fireplaces with stunning original mantels, towering ceilings, and original inlaid wood floors. Bright and sunny with large windows, the home is ideal for both busy families or frequent party hosts. The first floor could even serve as a separate unit, perfect for extra income, or as a mother-in-law apartment. A chef’s kitchen has stainless steel appliances, while a roomy den has plenty of cozy nooks for comfortable afternoons with a book. The bedrooms are large and bright, which certainly isn’t something you can say for every property in the borough. Outside, a spacious garden fills up with southern light, and is easily accessible via a large deck outside the parlor floor.

Hunter bought the historic home for $3.3 million back in 2014, so she’ll make a nice chunk of change if she manages to sell at its asking price.
