David Spade Sells Home In Malibu…Finally

Actor, comedian and former Saturday Night Live star David Spade has finally sold his beachfront Malibu home for $10,225,000! Spade thought the joke was on him as he waited for years and years to finally snag a buyer for the 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, 3,763 square foot home.

The former “Just Shoot Me” star bought the place on May 20, 2005 for $9,300,000 and just two years later, in 2007, the beachfront pad first popped onto the market with a $16,000,000 asking price . With no buyer coming a-knocking, Spade de-listed the Malibu home at 21606 Pacific Coast Highway and leased it out, eventually re-listeding it in December 2011 with a more realistic asking price of $13.5 million. It languished on the market for nearly two years until Spade closed a deal on June 13, 2013, selling the place for just $10,225,000 to a C-level executive from Netflix.

The just-sold home sits on a pristine stretch of La Costa Beach and has rare patio privacy and a beautiful pool on the backside of the property. The home has high ceilings, gorgeous wood floors and numerous doors opening to the incredible sandy coastline. Spade sunk some serious dough into the place over the years, giving it a newer bulkhead and foundation and high-end finishing touches.

While he’s no longer a Malibu resident, Spade still owns a $4 million home with a celebrity pedigree in the gated Trousdale Estates area of Beverly Hills. Both Eddie Murphy and Warren Beatty owned the home before Spade bought it on December 7, 2001.
