Dakota Fanning’s Family Is Selling Their Studio City Home

The child actress turned full-fledged rising starlet is saying goodbye to her childhood home.

When you’re one of young Hollywood’s hottest commodities, it can be difficult to stay grounded. One simple solution: Keep living with Mom and Dad! But now that Dakota and her younger sister, Elle, are busy actresses, the Fanning family has put their five-bed, four-bath home in sun-drenched Studio City, CA, up for sale. Currently listed at $2.85 million, the immaculate residence has served as a home base for the Fanning crew since they bought it in 2003 for $1.325 million.

Measuring 3,582 square feet, the French country–style home, which was built in 1953, occupies a prime location in one of Studio City’s most coveted neighborhoods. Tucked away on a quiet, hillside cul-de-sac, the property is surrounded by oak trees with expansive views of the Hollywood Hills and beyond. A gated entry ensures privacy, while lush, mature landscaping provides a bucolic setting. Spacious living and dining rooms have vaulted ceilings, a custom limestone fireplace, and French doors that overlook Los Angeles, CA.

A chef’s kitchen welcomes guests with white marble countertops, a spacious center island, cozy breakfast nook, and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen also overlooks the private backyard, where a resort-style swimming pool takes center stage. The connecting family room offers plenty of space to visit with family and friends.

Dakota may have made a name for herself with childhood roles in flicks like War of the Worlds, but it’s pretty safe to say the almost-23-year-old actress has successfully transitioned into a new role as a respected (grown-up) actress. Next year, she’ll hit the big screen in Ocean’s Eight, the all-female heist flick co-starring Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, and Mindy Kaling.
