After listing his cheery residence in the foothills of Hollywood for $1.99 million, spunky Saturday Night Live alum Chris Kattan has just sold his home for $1.55 million — less than he was hoping to get for it, but still at a profit. The two-bedroom, four-bathroom, 2,496-square-foot home was originally purchased for $1.07 million in 2001. Touted in the listing as “celebrity owned,” Kattan’s for-sale bungalow is hidden behind lush greenery and an ornate iron gate. Vintage details include a Batchelder fireplace, crown molding, and hardwood floors throughout. A large living room, den, and formal dining room lead to a charming indoor/outdoor patio. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate soaking tub beneath a lovely bay window. Downstairs guest quarters feature a bath, fireplace, and access either from inside the main house or from the outside. French doors open to patios and the pool area, and an additional upper patio leads to a two-story guest/pool house with incredible folding windows that open directly to the grotto-like pool. Adding to its celebrity pedigree, this Hollywood home was formerly owned by Danny DeVito. Sharona Alperin of Sotheby’s International Realty held the listing.
